Mechanical Engineering
Depending upon department and position, Mechanical Engineering graduates perform:
* Analysis of production problems and development of solutions.
* Designing special order trailers requiring a high degree of customization.
* Selection of materials and components and estimation of costs involved in order processing.
* Generating computer programs relating to construction of structural systems.
* Research and development work involving the designing and testing components and complete units.
* Current projects involve thermal testing, weight reduction, photo-elastic stress analysis, and over-road simulation among others.
Industrial Engineering
Possible assignments for Industrial Engineering graduates are:
* Engineering the design and installation of new machinery, especially in connection with new processes.
* Modification and improvement of existing machinery and evaluation of its efficiency.
* Assisting in supervising the maintenance of all plant facilities.
* Undertaking studies of cost and profitability of operations.

Accounting
An Accounting degree qualifies you for opportunities in financial management and controllership. Some specific responsibilities would include:
* General and cost accounting.

CO-OP Engineering Students
Co-op Engineering students are used regularly both in product and manufacturing engineering.
Summer Interns
The availability of paid summer internships varies from year to year, but openings when they occur may be available in Engineering, Accounting, Human Resources and MIS.
Liberal Arts
Although the number of openings is limited, Great Dane employs liberal arts graduates in such areas as Human Resources, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Customer Service.
Computer Science
Our increased reliance on computers and systems has created career opportunities for Information Science graduates using data base and data communications technology with modern data processing equipment in applications such as order entry, inventory control, general ledger and cost accounting, production planning, payroll, human resources information and manufacturing control.
Engineering Technology
An Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree would lead into production and systems engineering. You might be involved in the maintenance and operation of test equipment and electronic data acquisition.
Business Administration and Finance
There is a continuing need for qualified Business Administration and Finance graduates. Individuals with a business degree are particularly desirable for employment if they possess technical skills and interest. Positions leading to sales and sales administration as well as entry level position in customer service, materials, human resources and sales engineering.
